Local light

These are photographs I’ve made around the U.S.—scenes and places that caught my eye because of how the light fell on a surface or texture, or how something stood still for a moment. Nothing grand, just everyday scenes that felt worth framing.

Local light: Color

Color draws me in when light meets surface in a striking or unexpected way—a rusted door in late sun, a vivid corner of a parking lot, a painted wall under shadow. These images are shaped by contrast, warmth, and the way color can quietly anchor a place in time.

Local light: Black & White

Without color, shape and tone step forward. These images are studies in light, shadow, and stillness—familiar places reduced to essentials. The absence of color makes room for detail, and for something quieter to take hold.

A printed photograph can do more than fill a wall—it can bring warmth, texture, and a sense of familiarity. Select images from Local Light are available as fine art prints through my Fine Art America portfolio.
